Derek "d.boom" Ullenboom, a Canadian musician and Berlin-based artist, is known for his work as a music producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. After graduating from the Contemporary Music program at Humber College in Toronto, Derek relocated to Berlin to further push his musical boundaries. His versatile skills and dedication caught the attention of BMG music publishing, leading to a successful 5 year collaboration. Since 2023, Derek has been independently published and been recording and producing music with some of Europe's best artists, resulting in his songs achieving platinum and gold record-status and landing the #1 single on the Billboard Dance Charts.
Working both in the studio and on stage, Derek also tours with a number of top artists including Graham Candy, Niila, and May the Muse. In 2019, he supported rock legend Bryan Ferry on the USA leg of his world tour, with Berlin-based artist Femme Schmidt. In addition to being a professional guitarist, Derek is an in-demand session musician on mandolin, banjo, bass, piano, and trumpet.
Derek currently works out of Boy Wonder Studios in Berlin's Kreuzberg district, alongside Grammy Award-winning songwriters John "P*Nut" Harrison and Erik Alcock.
